Ghana Graduates Conference

Call for Papers

The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for undergraduate and postgraduate scholars to present findings from their seminal dissertations. It will also foster  research collaboration and mentoring of emerging researchers and practitioners in order to share their research and practical project management experience. We invite scholars and practitioners and professionals in any of the topic areas listed below, or related areas.

Submissions should demonstrate how findings can enhance or support socio-economic development in Ghana and Africa.  Most importantly submissions on other countries should explain what Ghana and Africa can learn from the research/report/poster/artwork being presented.

The Ghana Graduates Conference encourages the following types of submissions:

Papers can be submitted for the following categories:

Thesis/Dissertations:
Open only for undergraduates and postgraduate scholars to reflect the summary of their thesis or dissertations in terms of the development of hypotheses and methodology and showing the way how it may contribute to the research, policy, and practice. Electronic copies have to be submitted as ONLY Microsoft Word formats *.doc and *.docx.

Research Papers
Open to practitioners or professionals who are currently in the early years (within first 3 years) of their professional careers and/or graduate development career programmes in private or public sector institutions. Professionals may submit summary of the thesis/dissertations completed while in school. Electronic copies have to be submitted as ONLY Microsoft Word formats *.doc and *.docx.

Case Studies and Reflections
Case studies in any of the topic areas listed above, or related areas. Submissions are welcome from Public and Private Companies, Non-governmental organizations and Institutions, Electronic copies have to be submitted as ONLY Microsoft Word formats *.doc and *.docx.

Posters and Artwork
Ideas, concepts and solutions captured in visible form of expression which offers sustainable innovations in any of the topic areas listed above, or related areas and are contextually relevant to Ghana and Africa. Electronic copies have to be submitted as PDFs.
Product Demonstrations
Ideas, concepts and solutions in a form of a product. Presenters will be given an opportunity to demonstrate the functions of the product. Submissions to this category should include a problem or issue the product seeks to address and pictures of the product and implications to practice. Electronic copies have to be submitted as ONLY Microsoft Word formats *.doc and *.docx (maximum 2500 words excluding abstract).

Reports on Issues Related to Projects and Policies
Reports related to innovative instruction techniques or research related to teaching in any of the topic areas listed above, or related areas.

Music, Drama and Poetry Acts
Music, drama and poetry performances or acts are welcome. However, the performance has to be captured on CD or DVD roms and submitted to the conference committee. Format of Presentations:

Paper sessions and Product Demonstrations will consist of three to four presentations in a 60 or 90 minute session.  The session will be divided equally between the presenters.
Poster and Artwork sessions will last 90 minutes and consist of a large number of presenters.  Poster sessions allow attendees to speak with the presenters on a one-to-one basis. The following supplies will be provided:

  • Easel
  • Tri-fold display board (48 x 36 inches)
  • Markers
  • Push pins
  • Tape
