We, the participants, of the Second Ghana Youth and Graduates Conference, on this day, 24th September 2010, join the PearlRichards Foundation and the organizers of conference to create "SPACES" FOR DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICA. A ‘space’ is an avenue for expression. Our objective is to create and promote a ‘space’ for communicating and nurturing unique ideas and concepts into sustainable projects or business enterprises which have a positive impact on society and future generations. To this we ascribe our commitment to:
1. Health Care
We will give a space to African herbal drugs and African pharmaceutical firms to foster research, collaboration, and scientific discovery, to meet international health care and marketing standards. - TAKE A STAND and join us Axxhira Chronicles, www.axxhirachronicles.com
2. Gender Development
We will give a space to African women by using the new media - internet, social networking websites, mobile phones and radio - to promote and share their creative ventures. - TAKE A STAND and join us at Gender Development Project - www.ewuraba.com
3. Education
We will give a space for the use of learning technologies and electronic resources for teaching in educational institutions [schools and universities] in Africa. - TAKE A STAND and join us at Digital Learning Africa, www.digitallearningafrica.org
4. Technology
We will give a space for promoting sustainable and contextually relevant technological projects or business enterprises which have a commercial or socio-economic development focus. - TAKE A STAND and join us at PC Tech Magazine, www.pctechmagazine.com
5. Research and Policy Development
We will give a space for collaboration and networking among African researchers, practitioners and policy makers in a manner which promotes critical research and advocacy for sustainable policies and projects. - TAKE A STAND and join us at the African Institute for Development Informatics and Policy (AIDIP), www.aidipinstitute.org
We pledge our commitment to these five pillars of the DECLARATION OF ACCRA and will promote these ideals through our knowledge and social networks to ensure that our “DREAM FOR AFRICA” is achieved. I am proud to be an African and I am proud to be a knowledge and innovation producer for Africa.
I BELIEVE IN SPACES AND I WILL FOSTER A SPACE FOR DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICA.
Thanks for attending... TAKE A STAND with us!
